ReplyDeleteWhat you have done with this blog is truly amazing. As a co-advisor and your side kick I should be doing more, but hang in there, we'll get the momentum going. This is really a nice blog to get things started the right way!
I really like "Think green" and "Green your routine"
ReplyDeleteI think "Engineering our future" has been a very used topic and it leaves something to be desired, maybe because it's too general and describes any engineering discipline, not just particularly civil.
But on a positive note, I love this site! Keep up the great work! I would love to help out during the summer, as I will only have research to do, so I need a hobby!

I like just simply "Green your Routine"... short and catchy. We could add something like "Engineering for Tomorrow" if we need to have engineering in the theme... But "engineering our future" makes me think of the SWE day for the girl scouts...

ReplyDeleteI like "Green your Routine." It goes beyond conference and promotes sustainable living. Catchy, too...
ReplyDeleteI do think there needs to be a civil engineering concept worked into it somehow... I will think on this and get back with you.
How about "Engineering for a Green Future?"
ReplyDeleteYou could use only products that are minimum 30% post-consumer recycled and go paperless on everything possible. It would make for a good mystery competition too--maybe how to save the most energy for a campus? (engr does big things not classrooms-that's arch). =)
Of the two, my vote is "Green your Routine." 'Think Green' seems like something similar has been done before, as does 'Engineering our Future'. I like this site too!

I like GREENgineering. Would the general public understand the idea or would it need explination? What about legal issues? Some companies are using this wood as a promotion of their environmentally friendly practices.
ReplyDeleteWell, greengineering looks like it is an international trademark for an engineering company in NJ. Unfortunately, as much as I like the 'word', I'm afraid there are potential legal issues for using a trademark without permission.
